FLATPROOFING SYSTEMS AND MATERIALS

Light Truck Tyre Flatproofing Compound
Low Pressure PU Dispensing Machine
ATT have a number of compounds available to flatproof different tyre sizes and applications. These range from 8.5 x 2 electric scooter tyres up to 235/85R16 light utility vehicles. Each compound consists of two different components (Part 1 and Part 2) that are mixed together before injection into tyres. Once inside the tyre, the material expands (foams) to fill the whole air space, and gels (sets) to form a resilient, rubbery foam core. At the end of the process there is no air remaining in the tyre. There are two types of equipment available to apply Aerofill - Single Shot, and Low-Pressure PU Dispenser. Single Shot:• For small runs and larger tyres• Inexpensive • Easy to set up and use PU Dispenser:• High throughput and efficiency• Cleaning only at the end of a batch of tyres, not after each one ATT provides full training and ongoing support to our tyre flatproofing customers. The cost to flatproof a tyre with Aerofil is similar to that of traditional fill. However, the benefits include much lighter wheel mass and a smoother, more compliant ride. The table below compares the weight of Aerofill with traditional fill (e.g. Tyrfil) required to flatproof some of the tyres we process.
