 TUBELESS VS TUBE

There are two options available for flatproofing electric scooter tyres with Aerofill, tubeless (no innertube required), and tube type, where the innertube in a wheel and tyre assembly is injected without the need to remove the innertube and tyre from the rim.  

Tubeless flatproofing has the following advantages:

   1. The wheel and tyre assembly is approximately 100 grams lighter
   2. Lower cost when replacing tyres - no innertube required
   3. Lower rolling resistance =  longer distances between  battery charges

Sometimes it is preferable to apply Aerofill without stripping the tyres and tubes from their rims. For example, a scooter with good tyres and tubes that needs to be flatproofed. In such cases it might be more convenient to avoid the trouble of removing the tyres and tubes and preparing the rims for tubeless flatproofing.

It is not even necessary to remove the wheels from the scooter with tube type flatproofing, however this is not advisable as it can be difficult to level the wheels with the horizon (an important step) when they are attached to the scooter.
